A Rapid City restaurant and bar without equal, Vertex Sky Bar combines modern features and traditional architecture with an unforgettable view. Vertex is located on the top two floors of the Hotel Historic Alex Johnson. Both levels offer indoor seating and an outdoor deck with gas-heated fire pits. Panoramic views allow guests to experience an incredible view of the Black Hills, Dinosaur Hill, the southern buttes and gorgeous prairie. Vertex Sky Bar offers hotel guests and Vertex Club members a wide selection of expertly-mixed cocktails, world-class spirits, and a variety of fine wine and beer. Love this place! Top of the world in Rapid City, SD! Great service, great food, great views!

This is a beautiful view of downtown Rapid City. The drinks were great on New Year's Eve, but the service was a little lack luster. We sat at a table for 15 minutes and no server showed up. My husband ended up going to the bar and the bartender on the hand, was excellent.
